We are pleased to announce another successful completion of our advanced course in hardness testing at the Wiehl site. The event took place on July 9 and 10, 2024, and offered participants a unique opportunity to acquire in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge in materials testing, heat treatment and materials engineering.
Advanced course in hardness testing
Hardness testing is one of the most frequently used methods of materials testing in industrial manufacturing. From simple sewing needles to complex aerospace components, hardness testing is an indispensable part of quality assurance. Despite its widespread use, current knowledge of the necessary boundary conditions and test accuracy often remains limited.
As part of the advanced course, Latzke Academy provided both theoretical knowledge and practical skills for applying various test methods for heat treatment monitoring. Our LATZKE testing laboratory was available to participants, where they were able to practise and learn all common test procedures on modern and older testing machines.
Practical exercises in focus
Particular emphasis was placed on practical exercises so that participants can apply the methods they have learned safely and effectively in their day-to-day work in the testing laboratory. The aim of the training was to provide participants with the competence to make reliable testing decisions and thus make a significant contribution to quality assurance in manufacturing.
